Anti Mosquito Coil as called coil physical properties are solid, green color and coil form.
Where do material formers come? Material formers come from by products of coconut, Wood and tapioca starch.
Coconut is usually used for coconut oil, milk squeezed and other usage. Coconut shell then powdered by milling machine and become one of raw materials for making coil.
Wood which usually used for making furniture, raw material of pencil, by products of those industries also can be used as raw material for manufacturing of Coil. The method is the same with making coconut shell powder.
Kind of wood which used is Teak Wood, Timber wood, Gemor Wood, Durians Wood, Rubber Wood, etc. Some wood like Cedar Wood is restricted because of its irritation to eyes and nose after burn.
Tapioca starch by product is also used for manufacturing coil. Tapioca starch by products is dried and then powder by milling machine.
Each of raw materials as coconut shell powder, wood powder and starch powder has their function on making Coil.
Coconut shell powder is filler agent to control coil surface smooth. It also uses for controlling burning time.
Wood powder is burning agent that control coil burning until end.
Starch powder uses for sticking agent and gluing agent. It is useful when stamping coil to sticking all raw material together. I call it binder because without starch powder raw material could not be stuck altogether. Starch powder is also useful for slowing down burning time so that coil is not too fast end.
Starch powder must be cooked by hot water 95 0C for about 5 minutes to exit the glue. Tapioca starch powder, coconut shell powder and wood powder must be powdered until pass through sieve with mesh 80. If it does not pass through mesh 80 coil surfaces would be rough.
In Indonesia the usage of by product helps government to keep clean environment from it. Also the making of powder needs many man powers that many people can work on it.
Composition of each powder in formula is:
Tapioca starch powder: 20 - 30 %
Wood Powder: 25 – 40 %
Coconut shell powder: 25 – 40%
